9/8 (Tuesday): We started threading the machines. Students learned how to thread the top portion of the machine.
9/9 (Wednesday): Students learned how to wind a bobbin and thread their bobbin case/bottom of machine. We then did "machine races" where students practiced threading their machines over and over.
9/10 (Thursday): Students took the Machine Parts quiz. This quiz MUST BE PASSED WITH 90% OR BETTER in able for them to sew. I will not let students use the sewing machines if they do not understand the parts and how they work.
Students also started their Crazy Stitch (sewing on a paper without the machine being threaded. This is to practice controlling the fabric as it goes through the machine).
9/11 (Friday): FABRIC FOR FIRST TWO PROJECTS IS DUE TODAY!
Students continued to work on their crazy stitch pages. When they finished those, students started working on their sample squares. These squares are so the students can get acquainted with the sewing machine and feel comfortable enough to sew their projects.
